I currently have a after hours ringer with a dial by name directory on it. i want to be able to have a DID with that feature is that possible?

I have a front end menu on (Qwest EzRoue) and one of the options i have set is a dial by name dir. i need to be able to have the dial by name with a DID to transfer to.

TIA

DID will answer it just like a normal copper line.....just tell AA to answer the target line for that DID.
Not sure on your english also but you cannot transfer from AA to a DID.

Curlycord,

I have a front end menu with Qwest's EzRoute. i need to assign a DID to the Dial by name Directoy option. so i can have the option set in EzRoute. EzRoute needs to have a number to transfer to.

In our current AA it has an option set for a Dial By name directory option.

you can not have a DID go straight to the dial by name directory.

Sorry... just the way nortel works =)

Sounds like maybe you want to use both Qwest's EzRoute greetings and also the Call Pilot's greetings?.

As much detail as you can please.

Maybe give an example of exactly how it works when somebody calls in....and also how this DID comes into play.

We have a new 800# menu that has several options which transfer callers directly to this or that extension, depending on what they pick (i.e. "Press 1 for Sales, 2 for Customer Support, ..."). One of the options on the menu is "For a directory, press ..." We would like that option to transfer a caller into the PBX, directly to the directory feature ("If you know your party's extension, dial it now, or press # for the directory").

For us to build that option on the 800# menu, we need a DID number to transfer calls the calls to.

Can we set up a DID number (other than our main number: 9xxx) which answers with a directory feature? It doesn't have to be the dial-by-name feature directly, just some form of automatic menu with the choices to dial an extension or go to a directory.

Can we create an Auto-Attendant with Custom Call Routing on a DID other than the main line?

Yes!

DID's use target lines.
Assign the DID a target line.
Program AA to answer that target line # after 0 rings (or 2 if your 3rd part transfers call ID).
Record Greeting #1 under AA/Grtg/Grgt/1 in F983.

On all Norstar Voice Mails it is # to get to the directory by first or last name.
Older software is last name, new software can be last, first or both depending on how it was setup.

Cheers

i got a problem when i press # on any Voice mail or on the AA i set up that i made it goes straight into VM record your message?

Is the directory option set to yes on your mailboxes?

You'll also have to make sure the names are spelled correctly on the mb's, and their names are recorded for the directory.
