I am working on a D816 and am having a problem with the CO lines as well as removing CO 1 from the dig set. For starters CO1 would ring once and then ring trip. Moved the circuit to CO 3 and the line now works fine. I was able to remove CO1 from the set(jacks 1 through 3 and 5 and 6) and can now lift the reciever and get an outline. On jacks 4,7 and 8, I removed CO1 via 603/604 and outcalling in 605/606 and the key assignment in 005. It shows as the operation is completed but when I check the sets on those jacks, C01 is still assigned so you have to manually select the outline. I removed CO1 on second attempt in 005 and thought the problem was resolved but when I checked the sets for those jacks, C01 was still there.
I tried a System reset and it did not resolve this problem. I also cycled the power and it did not help either.
Hope someone can steer me in the right direction because I am probably missing a step somewhere and need fresh ideas. Thanks.

easy way remove line ones button on all phones
you can also remove line one in co line connection

I already did that ...see ref to 005 as well as remove line connection (603/604 and 605/606). The problem is that CO1 shows removed in the software but is somehow still there when you check the set. I was successful at removing CO1 from some phones but those connected to jacks 4,7 and 8 are causing me grief.
Any other ideas on how I can clean this up?
Thanks.

don't do it with software at each set hit program 99 hit line ones
button hit 2 then autodial/store see if that zapps the button...

When you go offhook, how do I make a CO line the prime instead of the intercom?

Thank you cwc3. This solves this problem.
I am a little concerned that since CO1 is now bad, how stable are the rest of the trunks. Are there shared circuits that will now cause a failure in CO3?

if i were you i'dd have a spare tda 50/30 for an emergency
replacement if you are worried.
