I keep running into problems with web forms where things that I do on local clients wont work. For example, creating files on the local client, or running HOST commands etc. From what I can gather d2kwutil is the answer, but I cant get anywhere with it. Ive downloaded it and followed instructions about where to place the files, adding directories to the forms60_path and whatever, but I still cant even get the example form that's packaged with it to open without error. The best i can get is a frm-10102 cannot attach pl/sql library d2kwutil error. Can anyone point me to some instructions that will actually work? Can anyone give me detailed instructions on where, what and how I have to do to get this thing so that I can make it work?

Maybe Im missing something about pll files in general. I just dont know what Im doing wrong at this point.

thanks for any suggestions...

Are you running the forms on the local client or the web?

currently the forms run on the local client and everything works fine. Im moving the forms to the web and that's where everything is breaking...

*You will not be able to run external programs such as d2kwutil from web forms. Web forms are not compatible with windows.*

Hi,

I ran into a lot of problems when switching to web forms. You just need to start thinking about code. for example. HOST will look like it is not working but in fact what it is doing it is kicking of a process on the web server instead of the client. You can use the operating_system value of get_application_property() which will return MSWINDOWS or WEB and use workarounds for the web. U will have to use java files to kick off a process on the client from the web. Metalink will usually have a workaround for the problem you have

Daniel.
