D160 Cordless Line appearance Issue

I have found out that the Avaya D160 cordless phones cannot have line appearances? Since this is an issue for a customer of mine, they want to select a line instead of using the short code 9N. The system has 2 lines, I am trying to figure out a way to use the buttons on the bottom of the phone with short codes to be able to dial out on line 1 on one button and line 2 on another button. If anyone has any ideas or a different solution I am open to suggestions.
