Hello,

I recently started at a new job and the plant uses D term series e NEC phones. One of the phones is not ringing, I can see the call come in and the LED blinks when it does but there is no volume. I have adjusted the volume of the ring tone and it is all the way. When I change the ring tone I can hear the tone but not when a call comes in. I have tried: replacing the phone, adjusting the volume of the ring tone, tried using the feature buttons to disable DND, and #8 to disable DND. The MIC LED was always on so I thought maybe that had something to do with it but I turned that off and the issue still persists. I am not familiar with this phone system at all so any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi skylarpurifoy,

What pbx do they have?
Maybe the phone isn't in the same incoming call group, from what I have seen with NEC is that you can have the phones see incoming calls programmed, but they will not ring if the extension is not added.
Seen this in Doctors offices, the phone rings at the nurse station and the light of incoming call flashes also at the doctor phone.
Can you call outside using that line?

Also keep the MIC on and does the phone ring when you call it internally from another phone?

This question cannot be answered without knowing what telephone system the phone is connected to. That phone worked on 3 different NEC systems each is programmed differently. Look at the system cabinet/KSU and note any markings ie: Electra Elite/IPK/2000IVS/IVS2/IPS/2400IPX, etc.

Well this is weird but I tried calling the line from an outside number (my cell phone) and the phone rang for all to hear. Then I tried calling from a few different internal numbers and now all of a sudden the phone was ringing.

I'm not sure what was going on but I appreciate your quick feedback
