hi

i have 3 computers
1) Red Hat 7.3 Pentium 2
2) Windows 2000 Duron 1000
3) Windows 2000 Pentium 2

What i am wanting to do is connect all 3 so they all can access the internet and linux computer is used as a firewall.

i have guide on how to do that, but what i need to know is, will a "D-LINK SOHO 10/100 8 PORT SWITCH" be suitable for the network. will it work with the linux machine?

has anyone else used this type of switch and had problems?

thanks

Matthew

We use those type of switches for some of our customers and have no issues. Linuxand Windows will have no issues with it since the switch is transparent to the OS. As long as you have the instructions on how to set it up you should be good to go. James Collins
