I have just purchased two DWL-520+ to go into 2 PCs both running XP HE
I have followed the instructions (uploaded the latest drivers for both machines V3.07)

The machines are setup as:

SSID = MSHOME
TxRate = auto
Channel = 6
wireless mode = ad-hoc
Preamble = long preamble
Power mode = continious access mode

use windows to configure my wireless network is un-checked

machine1
========
manual ip 192.168.1.1
subnet mask 255.255.255.0

machine2
========
manual ip 192.168.1.2
subnet mask 255.255.255.0

- I have also tried this using the auto assigned IP addresses and still no joy.

My issue is the machines do not speak - I have then within 4 feet of each other - the green LED falshes approx every 10 secs.

Using the D-Link air plus config utility the Link quality/signal strength NEVER lights so obviously there is no communication but If I change the SSID on one machine then look at the config utilty on the other machine the new SSID is present - so there must be something communicating but I cannot ping the other machine etc.

Thanks...

Hi there,
I have a D-Link DWL-510 and cannot get it to talk to a Netgear USB stick.

I too have set up manual Ip's and ad-hoc mode etc.

Did you manage to find a solution to this problem?

Thanks.....
