D-channel Question

I am trying to configure a PRI in an Opt 81. In LD 17 [ADTRAN], for IFC, I am trying to use NI2, but I get a SCH 6357. This translates to "interface change is not allowed for UIPE D-channels"?

Does anyone have an idea what this means? What is an UIPE D-channel? Is there anyway around it? Verizon tells me these PRIs are out of their Siemens switch in the Virginia Beach area and they can only use NI2.

I am trying to do a change. I am now trying to out the Dch and rebuild. How do you disable an MSDL card? I have the d-ch disabled in LD 96, but I need to disable the MSDL card before I can out it in LD 17.

ld 96 for the msdl and you are correct you need to start from scratch

I removed all the B-channels for both the back-up Dch [9] and Primary Dch [7] and was able to out the back-up Dch, but I still cannot out the Primary Dch [7].

Make sure before you disable the D channel you disable auto recovery of the D channel....if you don't, by the time you go to LD 17 to out it the D channel is already trying to establish a connection and won't let you out it.
