D Channel: DCH1019 (Hardware Failure)

Option 61, VERSION 1111,RELEASE 19,ISSUE 60.

D Channel will not enable due to hardware failure. Before a dispatch I wanted to disable the card and force download but am unsure how to do that. Every time I try to do a stat msdl it returns nothing. Here is what I do know..

I don't know that much about D-channel Interface Cards, but not built on a msdl!!

That's right. It is not an MSDL card. The DCHI is not a downloadable card. It may be defective.

What do I need to disable other than the loop to take out the card and reseat it?

Since the D-channel is already disabled, nothing. Disable the loop and "go to town".

So re-seating the card without disabling it won't have any ill effects? I don't even know what slot it's in.

You will need to trace your d-channel cable from the card in Loop 2 to the DCHI card.

If you have any MSDL ports available, you might want to rebuild the d-channel on an MSDL port. Of course you would need the proper cable from MSDL to T-1 card for this.
