Hi i wonder if anyone can help me out with the above error message?

Cyclic Redundancy error? It happens when performing a verify operation. The back works ok but the verfiy fails.

Is it because the backed up files have changed in size since the backup had originally taken place? I am using 11gig DAT drive and the BU takes up 2 tapes. Normal backup takes about two working days

thanks for your help

Hi Fox,

Have exactly the same problem with a Win2K/Exch2K/BENT 8.6 installation using onboard two channel Adaptec 7899G and an Onstream ADR50 tape drive!
Customer has Open file Option and it only fails when it tries to verify the C: drive!? The backup of the Exch2K which happens before the C and D: drives verifies fine!

Have already swapped drives, cables, termination and will soon be swapping the motherboard with the integrated SCSI!

Interestingly I previously re-installed a fresh Win2Ksrvr/Exch2K srvr/BENT 8.6 rel:3808 on the same server on a spare HDD and it worked -without Open File Option set!

could you confirm ver of BackupExec? and are you using Adaptec scsi at all?
cheers

Andy B
