Right to the point. How does Macola establish Count Frequency for ABC class. In other words, if policy states count all "A" items once a month, "B" items once a quarter, etc. how do you define the count frequency?

Best I can come up with is "pre-seed" Last_Count_Dt in the Item Location table with the appropriate staggering of dates. I.e., if 100 A items and frequency of 1 month (20 business days) then first 5 items would be 1/1/05, next 5 would be 1/2/05 etc....

Currently here this is managed by Cycle Count Code which is managed externally with a manual calender. ( Which is ugly given 20K item/location records.)

Thanks in advance for your responses

You can update the ABC code in Macola by running inventory reports, ABC analysis, set your parameters & indicate to update classes in item master file when you run it. Then you can select cycle count parameters based on ABC code instead of cycle count. You could also do an update query to set cycle count = inv class, but this seems a duplication of effort to me.
