3300 4.2 software. Currently I've got several HP Procurves running on the network with Voice Vlan 110, Data 100. They are using LLDP and everything works well, the 3300 is connected to a tagged (trunk port on the first Procurve which is also the gateway for the 3300). They've run out of ports on the Procurves so I was trying to get the embedded switch ports on the 3300 to work. In the layer 2 switch form DATA is set to 'untagged' on all ports and voice is set to 'Tagged' on all ports. In the System IP properties form the Voice Vlan is set to 110 and the Data to 100. Computers work ok, but 5320 sets will not pick up DHCP (the 3300 is the DHCP server within the voice vlan) It's almost as if the phones are not getting LLDP. Any ideas anyone!? It's not a massive issue as I can always add another Procurve.

Without looking it up I cannot remember if the built in CXi supports LLDP of the top of my I don't think it does.

To get around this you can configure the untagged vlan network DHCP server with options to direct the phones to the voice vlan they will then work. There is a DHCP config helper on MOL and instructions how to setup. I have had to do this when using switches that do not support LLDP or CDP.

we normally avoid the inbuilt switch where possible , id add another HP if i were you

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
