Hello all,

I am working on a CX300 and have run into the above... here are the facts:
- SPA and SPB have the same 8 characters in their name and according to EMC that is a no-no
- they have different IP's, but are set to be each others peer
- in Navisphere both of my hosts agents show unreachable

When I connect to the I can log in, but cannot change the hostname (SPA or B)... I get the message: "Please verify that this Storage Processor and its peer do not have identical HostNames. If they do, modify one of them. Failure to do so may have an adverse effect on some storage management software operations."

My question is: how can I change the hostname?

Thank you,

I would think that you'd have to RDP into the SP and change the hostname of the OS which runs on the SP (yes the SPs are running Windows). I'm sure that this would require an EMC tech to do as I've got no idea what the passwords would be. It could be as simple as using the Administrator usernamd and password setup in powerpath, but I've got no idea.
