Have an issue with getting BRIA SIP phone to work thru MBG loaded on APC in CX.

Reviewed the basics and under telworker settings have SIP enabled and SIP phone added in controller.

The SIP client (loaded on notebook) registers and operates fine on same subnet as CX controller. But when reconfigured for internet working cannot get to work thru MBG from outside the organisation. It doesn't even show up on device tab of teleworker to enable......

MBG's IP address is in DMZ of cisco router. Cisco Hairpinning configured for a couple of Teleworker handsets that work perfectly thru to MBG to the controller from remote sites. Beast doesn't want t work with SIP clients ( Ihave plenty of licenses for devices in MBG)

Any ideas where to start looking......

CX: MCD 4.1 sp2
Embedded APC: loaded with MSL 9.1 / MBG 6

Jakt99,

I am having the same problem with a MBG and SIP clients. Don't register on the 3300 when outside my office.

I have my MBG installed on a Server with MSL, and the server is at the DMZ port of a Firewall. I have only one Public IP Address so port forwarding is done at Firewall.

My Teleworker sets (MiNet) work with no problem but I am having no luck with SIP clients...

Any advice will be appretiated,

Regards,

Daniel

Hi, I'm not sure the reason.
I have never made this work for my MBG in server only mode.

However, I changed my MBG to server-gateway mode (network edge mode). It works without changing any MBG settings.

I found the solution that worked for my network setup, go into advancing settings in Teleworker. There are two setting under this tab that you can change to over-write the default public and/or LAN IP address(es). They are called:

RTC ICPSIDE and RTC SETSIDE (I think...Something like that)

Anyway they are the 1st two options. Also read the online help which will give a rough explanation of which IP to enter, in relation to which mode MBG is operating in (either server only mode and server gateway mode).

I had to play a tad and eventually got SIP handsets going. It will also depend on your router and configure of course.

1st, I entered in both fields the LAN address on APC card. connected notebook to LAN and pointed the softphone to the MBG interface and SIP softphone registered thru APC to controller. Was able make calls both ways with audio.

Next, I changed both to the designated public IP address. From the same notebook, made an internet connection thru my 3G card and the softphone worked a treat

Jact99,

I will try what you suggested and let you know, thanks in advance,

Jakt99,

Yes it worked!! For the first value (RTP ICPSIDE) I entered my MBG LAN IP Address which in my case is 10.0.116.2. Note I have my server as SERVER ONLY.

For the second value (RTP SETSIDE) I entered my Firewall Public IP Address.

Audio was good both ways, Thanks for that one!!

Online help doesn't say much...

Regards,

Daniel

Fantastic

The online help is not the greatest, I agree, pretty vague. No where else is there any mention of these settings or purpose.

Anyway chalk another win for forum help, true, justice and the mitel way....
