I've noticed that several people on this forum have been asking about SP3 or 4 implementation, so I'm going to assume that they're working fine with SP2. For some odd reason, we're having problem installing CW2000 5th Edition on W2K server w/SP2. It works fine on SP1, but trying on SP2 and we can't get anything to work. Just about every process including all the ones the ANIserver is dependent on is administratively shutdown and returns to that state as soon as you try to restart the process.

In addition, we had a number of continuing error message concerning dll's. Various programs couldn't find winmm.dll, odbc32.dll, wsock32.dll, ws2_32.dll, ws2help.dll, and msvcirt.dll. The error messages typically listed a string of menu it couldn't find the dll. For example,

perl.exe
The dynamic link library wsock32.dll could not be found in the specified path
c:\progra~1\cscopx\objects\ess\bin;.;c:\winnt\system32;c:\winnt\system;c:\winnt;c:\progra~1\cscopx\bin;c:\progra~1\cscopx\bin;c:\progra~1\cscopx\objects\db\win32;c:\winnt\system32;c:\winnt;c:\winnt\system32\wbem

It's kinda weird, since all the dll's are found in winnt/system32, but the search fails to find them. For many of the logs for each process, it appears to be java related, but the plug in and ms vm were correctly installed. We've attempted this a number of times.

We're at W2K 5.00.2195 Service Pack 2 and LMS May 2002

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Bluejanus,
I have encountered the same errors and found that pasting the required dll's into the CSCOpx folder (check error message for exact location) seems to sort it out. Also, you mentioned running version 5 on sp2; I'm not familiar with this latest release but does it allow for a higher SP, or have you checked the processor requirements? It seems like a long shot but have had trouble with that before.
Hope this helps.

Hey Blue,

The problem could be a path issue. Do a search on these dlls
winmm.dll, odbc32.dll, wsock32.dll, ws2_32.dll, ws2help.dll, and msvcirt.dll and in your path, add the location for these dlls. I encounter a similar problem and that's how I solved it. The 5th edition should work with SP2 and SP3. I have 40+ servers with the 5th edition.

Make sure you have d:\CSCOpx\bin;d:\CSCOpx\objects\db\win32;d:\cscopx\lib\jre2\bin

thanks
