I want to install CVS on a Linux server, and then set up a web based interface through which multiple users on the network can access the CVS (through their Windows pc's).
I've read through countless websites and tried out many different programs like cvsweb, ViewCVS, TortoiseCVS, cvsNT, etc. but haven't been able to get anything working so far. I know that cvs is already included with Linux, and I think it's been installed by someone before becuase I see a CVSROOT folder, but I have no idea how to use that or what to do with it.
I'm a bit of a beginner at Linux as well, so could someone please guide me (including what configuration settings I need to change in the .conf or .cgi files) as to how I can go about setting up CVS and then ViewCVS or cvsweb, and give Windows-based clients access through a web page?
