Hi everyone, especially to bruce ferguson of chelseatech, if he happens to pop into this thread by chance !
After i have tried almost everything to find out why the heck my cviewserver installation won't run on my windows 2003 server i came across an error log, which is generated when you try to run a report through the gui. There it said that some file could not be found, i.e. the crystal reports runtime engine. When i looked at the path where cviewserver looked for the file, my problem became very clear! The setup-routine does not recognize, that i am on a german environment and copies its runtime-files to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.5\bin.
But ... it seems that cviewserver recognizes the german env and looks for the runtime in
C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Crystal Decisions\2.5\bin
but this folder simply does not exist ...
So i just copied the files from the english folder to the german folder and
WOW! yes it runs.
i think you should know, because i pulled my hair out on this one.
just in case you have the same problem and get no answer from support.
