Hi,
I'm trying to install the CV 7.0 iDataAgent on our Mac OSX 10.5 server. But when I run the 'cvpkgadd' command I get the following error and installation doesn't start.

Restarting in pdksh-v5.2.14-27...
*** Unable to find pdksh-v5.2.14-27.

It looks like the install is looking for some shell. Does anyone have any experience with Mac OSX installations. I am running the command as as 'su -root'.

Appreciate any help.
Thanks

Hi

Can be due to a number of reasons

1) Verify permissions:
First, navigate to your installation path and verify the permissions are set to 755.
ie. # cd /mnt/software/galaxy (or whatever your path is)
# chmod –R 755 *

2) Ensure that all files from the dvd are present (if you copied it)

3) If you used WinZip when transferring the original installation dvd, ensure that the CF/LF option is not checked. From WinZip, select Options>Configuration>Miscellaneous, and ensure the TAR file smart CR/LF conversion box is unchecked

4) Root Profile issues;-
Run the alias command to determine what (if any) aliases are set. Either unalias each alias, or temporarily move your shell environment setup file to a .orig extension, run a shell command, then run cvpkgadd to begin the installation. Once the installation is complete, move your original environment file back.

thanks birky,
I was running the installation straight off the DVD.

I will copy the content locally and then chmod 755 that content and see how i go.

cheers

As it turns out the CV upgrade kit I had was a 'september 2007' version which does not have the OSX 10.5 support.
I downloaded the latest Unix DVD ISO from Commvault support website and that worked as expected.

Also i noticed that when I copy files off the DVD to the local server they files are in a 'locked' state. So to change the permissions I have to first 'unlock' the files and then chmod 755 the who directory.

Appreciate your assitance.
