I need to copy a bunch of tasks within a project so as to be able to repeat them, in my case at different locations.

As far as I can make out, when I select a block of tasks and cut and paste, it copies the names of the tasks and that's about all. The tasks all revert to the default 1 day length, and all the predecessor links disappear.

Am I selecting the tasks the "wrong way" perhaps- I'm just highlighting in the Task Name column.

I'm quite sure there must be a way of doing this.... HELP!

Select the entire row at the farmost left column, the grayed out sequence number

You have to be careful when you do this.

There is a field "Unique Sequence Number" which many third-party applications use (instead of the ID number) to reference tasks.

As you move tasks about, the ID number gets regenerated so the line ID numbers are always in sequence.

But ... the Unique ID number has slightly different behaviour.

When you "drag and move" the ID number that you see on the left side is dynamically recreated but the Unique ID number remains unchanged.

When you "drag and copy" the ID number that you see on the left side is dynamically recreated and the Unique ID number becomes the next available number in the project sequence.
