cut and paste in vfp7

The ctrl-c and ctrl-v keys are not working for cut and paste
when excecuting an app under vfp7 runtime.
Also does not work if selecting cut or paste from the edit menu.
Symptoms are select text in field. press ctrl-c
text disappears. press ctrl-v (no action) press esc
text reappears.

Apps have been compiled in vfp 5.0 and run successfully under vfp 5.0 and 6.0

Is the "Edit" (Cut-paste-copy etc..) portion of the VFP default menu included in the runtime version of your application?

Yes the VFP edit menu is included in our application.
Edit functions work under vfp5 and 6.

It appears to work for me correctly when I run from the VFP development environment. I do not know, if there is any problem only in a run time environment.

I opened a table as browse.. selected some part of a field.. used Ctrl+x and Ctrl+v everything fired as expected.

Prbable cause could be, you are traping something in KeyPressEvent and the default behaviours are ridden...
OR
you are setting SysMenu OFF and added the Edit menu choices without Shortcut keys...

I think there may be a bug in VFP7 runtime. I have an app where ctrl-C and ctrl-V work fine in development, then in the runtime version of the app cut and paste using the shortcuts works in some text boxes but not in others. Go back to run the development environment and it works fine again. A real pain as the user needs to cut'n'paste info from other applications.

Do you have the Service Pack #1 Installed?

In my case, yes, SP1 is installed.

We also have SP1 installed. As for finsys keys work fine for development and not all text boxes are affected.

Off hand I cannot say. Although I seem to recall something about a top-level applications needing some tweeking in order for the cut-and-paste to work.

Talman and finsys

Just so you know, I created two applications. One regular, with the default menu, and one Top-Level with just the VFP go menu (the one with the Cut and paste etc..) loaded as a top-level menu on the form. I have three texboxes in both applications, and but can copy and paste between all textboxes. There must something else at play here, that is disabling the cut-paste functions.
