Ok now I have a questions on customview report writer. I have version 2.0, can a report be written to report on specific times? I need an agent activity type report to run from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not a reporting person but I believe it can. I think it is the second tab that allows you to add filters.

Databit,

I'm not a report writing person either, I have used report runner but we had a specific group for report writing. Now I am in a position where I have to do both. I wish I could find someone I could take a class from besides Aspect, they are to far away.

Thanks for all your help.

They don't provide report writer/runner training anymore. Seagate is what they support now

Oh great, so what are we supposed to do if we are an old shop..... I guess I better get looking. :)

Going to have to find some used books on the old stuff :) they don't have them at Barnes and Nobles

you can create a new filter on the define filter tab and filter by termination date and termination time, but I'm not sure how the output will sort as you will be spanning 2 days. If RR insists on breaking up your data by day, you could export to excel and sort from there.

The caveat there is that a direct export from report runner to excel does not produce a useable format. you will need to export as lotus 1-2-3 (wks) and import that into excel.

At one point there was information on the aspect website regarding the conversion of report runner reports to a free version of seagate info desktop (7.0 I think), but I recall having issues with non-standard filters working properly when we went that route. Not sure if the download is free (or even available) anymore though.

We continued to use Report runner/writer up until last month when we migrated to another ACD platform, and while it lack something in the realm of stability, it was still quite flexible and fairly intuitive. If you haven't already, try poking around in the help files. There are quite a few useful nuggets contained therein.

good luck,

sm

You can do it one of two ways, use the define filter option in RR or you can write it into the report template using RW. Personally I would set-up the filter in RR it is much more practical.
