My company has the 5 user freebie CR Server that comes with CR XI and they're asking me to customize it as follows:

1.- Customize the interface to just show reports instead of all the folders
2.- Only allow users to execute reports on demand
3.- Configure the interface to look like an existing web application (logos, colors, etc.)
4.- Configure report level access based on user

I know most of this can be done using the CMC in BO Enterprise...can it be done in CR Server?

Thanks.

Sorry ... forgot ALL environment information.

CR XI Server
Windows 2003 Server

We'll be using InfoView and that is what I have been asked to customize.

Thanks.

Hi Turk,

I realize there's a CMC in CR Server but it's extremely limited. I was wondering if anyone had done any extensive customization in CR Server and how since the CMC doesn't offer a lot of options.

Thanks.

Hi,
I suspect not, since SAP ( formerly Business Objects) wants to sell you BOE XI if you need that much added functionality.

You can, using the SDK ( If CR Server has one) , probably develop an entire custom interface in a .NET application. ( I have done so for a limited license BOE XI installation, but am not sure CR Server published reports are handled the same way)
