Customizing Outlook Email Security Update

We have applied the security updates to our client boxes. We want to set policy where users can no longer open .exe files. We have achieved this.

When users hook up there PDA's they are prompted with a virus like message window to accept any updates from the PDA.

I found an article in the KB that lets you customize the patch through POLEDIT. I followed the instructions, but have not had any luck and was wondering if anyone out there has had similiar experiences.
