I've just been upgraded to Office 2007, and I can't find a way to customize buttons at the top of my Excel screen, to point to my favorite macros.
I click the customize button and I find 181 icons, but none can beat my old custom ones, for what I needed. Is there a way to edit them or add to the list? Thanks!

hi,

Right-click the QAT

Select Customize QAT

Select Choose commands from MACROS

Select and ADD the macro(s) or your choice.

I do that, then I can add my macro. Then I click "Modify..." (under the right-hand pane, and I see a dialog of 181 symbols that aren't meaningful to me.
In the old Excel, I could edit the button face, creating initials or short words that differentiated them, almost as mnemonics. I had 15 custom buttons, for various macros I run. Mnemonics are good, but 15 random symbols will take time to learn.

Check out Macro Button Assistant add-in, in Excel HELP.
