Customizing an HP PPD file to print at 85 lpi on XP?

I am printing PDF files on a Postscript printer to make camera-ready halftones. Printing from Win XP Home (on an HP1200N), I need the halftones to come out at 85 lines per inch at 1200 dpi. With both WIN 98 and XP one can set the Levels of Grey at "Standard" (to get true halftone dots without resolution enhancement). With WIN 98 one can also adjust the lpi to a custom level. But with XP, the print driver does not provide this choice. Using the HP PPD for my printer, I can select 106lpi at 300 dpi and 180lpi at 1200 dpi. But I cannot set it to do 85lpi at 1200 dpi. I have been told I need to customize the PPD file in order to do this, but I have been unsuccessful in doing so. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to do this, or a ref. to some KB article on this topic?
