Hello,

I'm using PO 5.5.
Does anyone know of the additional parameters for the PO.ini file for customizing?
Was wondering whether there is a way to set fields to mandatory.

Changes to business logic have to be done through a SDK customization, convincing Sage or having a screen customized.

However, depending on what you want to do in the PO screen and if you want to implement some workflows then Pacific Technologies' products might be of interest.

Thank you for your replies.

I have purchase workflow already which can be customized in pt.ini, e.g. I can add the following lines to allow for zero cost line items in POs:
[Customisations]
AllowZeroCostPOLines=1

Was hopeing I could do the same with PO. Pity.

VERY limited customizability really is the biggest downside of Accpac in my opinion, copared to other products.
Need the SDK for everything which is only available for Sage partners.

Anyone can purchase the SDK, it is however not an end user tool.

6.0 and beyond will greatly improve the scope of what can be customized. The SDK will still be around to handle Views but the new Java screens will allow much more flexibility than the VB screens.

Oh, I did not know that ettienne.
How much is the SDK?

I thought Accpac 6 runs like a website. Are you saying it is a Java application DjangMan?

For V6.1 the screens will be written in Java and, using open source tools, will be converted to Javascript so they can run in the browser. Interaction with the Accpac views will be managed through the Sage SData protocol and a custom layer to handle the view persistence.

This will allow lots of customization options since the source for the screens (hopefully) will be accessible and integrations can be made more seamless and integrating external data (from the Accpac database) will be seamless as well.

To sign up to be a development partner I think it is about $1500. Then you'll want training. It's isn't a pretty thing like .net. It's C. You, your compiler and your text editor.

Ettienne might admit to working with it in the past and might be able to elaborate.

You might be better off working with a company like Systronics or Greytrix who can work with you to create custom SDK modifications. (There are other development partners as well.)

Thanks Djangman!

I don't know C, so nothing for me.

From memory I read somewhere 6.1 is at least 2 years away?
