I'm new to avaya and i'm lost with this request.
The customer has 403 with pri 2* isdn 30 and the software level is 2.0

the customer wants line appearance to be set against individual DSS Keys on a 2050 handset is this possible to achieve.

Short Answer No
However Programming a numer of park bays under the DSS keys can give a reasonable compromise.

when ther user presses the key the caller is parked & the button will flash red on all users with this park bay programmed & can pick up the call if required.

I was told by my boss that V2.1 will allow this to happen but after upgrading or systems to 2.1 or licenses keep going from valid to invalid so i had to downgrade back to V2.0

Also how can i Programming a numer of park bays under the DSS keys. I know it's done under digital telephnoy but what would you type

*37*N# is to park a call

Line appearance (and Bridged appearance and other features to render a PABX back to being a PBX) are supposed to be in IP Office 3.0 due in November.

We've seen this request here many times, but this is the first time I've heard of a customer with 60 trunks wanting square line keys.... ack! Why would they want this, do they like pain or something??

Nah customer just everything 150% i think they want to park calls for all users or somthing. God knows we have 20-
30 customers or so and there the worst

in the users digital telephony tab set the action to park & the telephone number to any number (to be used as the park bay ref)
then can also be programmed direct from the handset in the following way

Press programm
Press DSS key
default passcode is 0000
cancel to delete any existing programming
dial park bay number (this not match any directory numbers)
press next DSS key or programm to exit

Gee IPGuru did you just come off a liquid lunch or something? Compared to your usual very clear posts, the above has an unusual number of typos and speech sounds kinda slurrrred...?

*GRIN*

Peter

PS I hope you know I'm just teasing you

I WAS on holiday when I made the post so the liquid lunch may have been close to the mark, however I think Most of my posts have a few typos's & this was no worse than usual.

Appologise to anyone who had dificulty following it

Ps, NP peter I can tell a joke when I see one :))
