Hi All!

I have a customer who wants to record his own greetings, because he says they change alot.

So i need to make some sort of recording in voicemail pro; "Greeting admin" calls **9 and gets to the recording menu, he records his message, and the old greeting file is overwritten by the new recording.

How would i do that? i have been looking at som VBscript, but cant figure out how to do it!

any help appreciated!

*17 will probably do the trick

Nope, you misunderstand:

This customer has an an ipo 500, and a voicemail pro module saying "Welcome to my company. We are open, and ready"

The customer want to be able to change this incoming call greeting on the voicemail PRO, without having to call me to make the change. Ergo, he want to be able to dial some sort of code on his phone, speak a new greeting like "welcome to our company, today we have campaign price on pork" and then this greeting should automatically be the main greeting for incoming callers.

So i guess *17 wont do it ;)

Any ideas?

Oke then make a shortcode
Example

*66
Voicemailnode
changegreeting
line id 0

Then in vmpro make a shortcode startpoint and use the exact name as in your shortcode, in this case changegreeting

Set the wav file in there that you want to change
This should do the trick

Nope, that doesnt work i think; when dialing *66 i just get the voicemail box of the user.

I want to be able to change the greeting in the VMPRO startpoint.
Maybe im misunderstanding you, or vice versa?

Be sure you set is as node and not collect
Also be sure you do not make a module but a shortcode start point !!!
Also do not use the quotes "" , do it without, only the name !

The way I do it is to create a module called recordings. Then after the start point i add a menu with a options say 1 to 5. Then add an edit play list and point that to the wav file you wish to change. Connect option 1 to this edit play list. Add others as required. In the menu, record a greeting ie, to change the main greeting press 1, to change the ?? greeting press 2. Then on the IPO I add a shortcode ie *71, and have it as voicemail collect and the number will be "?recordings".
Works every time.

wotanuta, that's what we use too, but the "?recordings" should be "recordings" I think :)

Amriddle and wotanuta:

That works brilliantly, thanks ;)

Make a shortcode;

*XX (XX free number)
VoicemailCollect
"modulename in vmpro" (don't forget the "")

@Tlpeter,

i do it that way... *100, VoiceMail Collect, "recordings" using a module and it is OK. i can record my greeting allover again without any problems. have not test it on 4.2.xx but it should be ok.

I know but sometimes it did not work for me
You need to use the ? in the quotes

With the shortcode and node you do not need quotes and a ?
