I am new to the M1 with 4 years of SL100 experience, we have an Option 11C.

We had 2 11C(s) installed and use them as PBX's, but they aren't screening/blocking calls correctly. Our bosses insist on many NCOS's but right now we only have 2 trunk groups (1 with an autovon (DSN) route and 1 with 2 routes (a local/cell phone commercial route + an international route)

However, the all trunk groups need to be accessed by 2 seperate types of customers (official and unofficial). These customers should use different SPN's to access international routes (009 for official, and 001, 0041, 0071, 0033 for unofficial.

Their level of access I can figure on blocking by NCOS/FRL and TGAR to the actual route, correct?

My direct boss wants to create another customer group...I suggest getting rid of some of around 50 NCOS's he wants to exist, due to lack of outgoing routes.

QUESTION
We have a customer group zero, how do I create a customer group 1?

I want them both to be identical, but have access to a different set of SPN's to select RLI(s) with.

This may be a pretty dumb question, but I am completely unfamiliar with most of the Load Overlays.

I understand how RLI's, TGAR, and FRL's work.

Another question is what is TARG?

Thanks

hi marine

you could use ac2 for access to aother set of spn`s and then put ext. in xlat list so when they dial 0 the xlat list translat into ac2 that could be any digit you want.

TARG relates to TGAR so if the 2 are the same it will be block, so if route have 1 and ext. no. have 1 that ext. is blocked for calling out that route.

So is TARG assinged to the phone and TGAR assigned to the trunk. I had a misunderstanding that TGAR was on both trunk and phone. Or is it on the Route? My protocol is probably wrong because I'm so use to referring in 100 terms.

What load are TGAR's changed in? 14 for trunks and 10/11 for phones?

Also, in the 100 we use 99 for all offnet calls and use 00x to access different trunk groups with various international long distance providers (0071MCI/VERIZON, 0041JAPAN TELECOMM, 001unofficial/009officialKDDI, 0033NTT, etc).

We use 99 for offnet also for local, cell, japan long distance and calling card calls. They are flat rate calls made across an NTT commercial trunk group. (098/090)

We also have different levels of D.S.N. area restriction (OKINAWA 6xx only; 2xx, 315, 4xx, 5xx, 7xx-8xx pacific, and 310-314, 316-319 are Global across.

They are all intermixed some with calling card and DSN global, others with International with only DSN Pacific. Others with cell/local out in town but DSN Okinawa only.

I can screen in the 100, but it's only 2 PRI's with 3 routes across them now, if i add another PRI, I can split them up by TGAR, then use FRL to block codes, but I run into the problem of FRL of 5 for DSN pac overiding FRL 4 for international,

I thought of the AC2 solution but I don't know if the we are allowed to use it or not?

Thanks,
The little bit less confused Marine

ld 16 rdb to change targ, ld 10/11 to change stations tgar..
but you don't need those or a second customer.. and if you have more then 7 ncos's you must like to type.. a second customer is also a waste of time... do you know i can not dial cust to cust 1 without a connection route and steering codes?

might look a tenant service.. then use 56 or 57 for ten to trunk group access..but you can set the complete thing up with just ncos.. and if needed use auth codes so that offical personal can dual autovon from any station.. search for my post on bars 101, it is a 10 minute read but lays out the basics.. at one time i taught a 40 hour course on ld's 86 87 and 90.. john.. usmc 1968 1976.. simper fi

there's the link to a once over.. the reason i never use more then 3 or 4 ncos's is simple... ld 87 nctl.. ncos 0 is =to frl 0, ncos 1 is =to frl 1.. you only have 7 frls, why use ncos 30 is =to frl 7?.. just use 0 to 7..

how many types of allow's do you need

0 internal
2 local
3 unoffical
4 offical
6 CG
7 switchroom

now you've got 1 and 5 to play with.. 7 by default includes all lower numbers.. so an nocs 3 includes all features of 2 and 0.. you can allow or disallow 911 to 0, and you could as well build an ncos 1 that allowed 911 only.. the worst thing about this switch is there are 1000 ways to set it up... and it's easy, after the 1st 100 or so

Mr Poole

Semper Fi, I was born and raised about in Batesburg,SC. About 30 some odd miles from your building if you work in the big Bellsouth building out of downtown Columbia.

I take it you've been around the autovon side before.

How many routes can you squeeze onto an actual 23 ch. PRI,
I also read that NARS (99=AC1) and TGAR can be used together.

My existing routes are all TIE trunks going to an SL-100 who takes the IBN trunkgroup and routes it via IBNXLA using STDPRTCT for all commercial out routing and the ATVN trunk group and routes it straight to HNPACONT for DSN translation like a normal SL-100 DOD trunk.

I'll check out your BARS 101, My SSgt keeps cutting me down about cutting out the huge NCOS list for the almost 45 customer Opt 11 PBX. I

have to have atleast 4 NCOS for B service and they all need down ATVN route to reach local DSN switch codes on the SL-100's of Okinawa and also different levels of commercial access depending on what they pay for, except I don't want them having ATVN access for off island and global DSN, which I don't think anyone up there would rate anyway and much less, MLPP capabilities.

Can you restrict some numbers from dialing 98(AC2) and allow 99(AC1) only, while allowing others to dial 99(AC1) only and not 98(AC2). If so, I might could sell that one to the Warrant Officer if he won't buy off on the cutting out NCOS's?

Thanks for your help

Just ask the Marine base in Albany Ga. how they are setup, it's really simple to do. don't make an easy job more difficult then it needs to be.

i worked on the rolm at mcas beaufort and some dial in to the 81c, post install.. and i've done a trip or 2 to mcrd parris island.. you would need tennant service to block an ac.. but then you don't need more then a single ac..

don't get me wronge you can build multi cust, but not usually needed.. ld 15 new cust works.. yon then need pri's between cust 1 and 0..

and i've done works in Batesburg area.. 61c at claffin campus, orangeburg.. and i work in house at palmetto health richland, downtown on an 81c with about 8000 users and 4 ncos's one ac code..
