I'm a newbie at Cube dev. This is a conceptual question and somewhat of a "how to" question. I would like to develop a cube where the customer is the measure and things like sales history, product history and any other customer related data will be the dimensions. I'm first going to develop this in the AdventureWorks database before I try this on live data. Any advice?

I think you're missing the point. Customer is not a measure. Measures are numeric, like money, counts, rankings, etc. I suspect you will have at least 2 cubes. The fact, or measure, table will contain a granular level of detail, something like order item or invoice line. Joining to that detail will be the various attributes (dimensions) that you want to analyze. Like Customer, Product, Time (order, invoice and/or date), Sales Channel (salesperson, region, phone/internet/mail), etc.
