Customer can't connect to Ebay with either IE 6.1 or Mozilla 1.6

I have a customer who can't connect to Ebay to see his auctions. He is running 98SE. Ie is 6.1, Mozilla is 1.6. All other web pages work OK. Spybot can't find any spyware, the system is immunized. The AVG anti-virus is up to date. The security is set to the minimum level. All cookies are accepted. He has no personal firewall. He is using a dial-up connection.

Any Ideas ?

Find their HOSTS file (no extension).
Open it with wordpad or notepad.
If thre's an entry for ebay in it, delete it.
Save the HOSTS file.
