Custom Web Part on mySite

Hello,
I have developed a custom web part. I am able to use it effectively on all regular sites, but it is not available as an option to add to a mysite page.
Does anyone have any idea what setting needs to be changed to allow this? Is it a coding option?

I found the problem. I added the web part to the web part gallery for my main portal, but never added it to the mysite area. I added it and am now able to use it fine.
