Hi everyone. I'm new to the custom view stuff in Livelink and this may be a very simple question :). I have a custom view created and everything looks good but I want to be able to get rid of the "browse section and create my own look and feel there....how is this possible???

Thanks!

Cathy

a custome view is html code interpreted in the real estate of a livelink container such as folder, project etc.so other valid objects will show up.To a certain extent you can hide by using the pencil icon ,some of the objects.

The livelink appearance will allow you to remove some of the things that you don't want.

To be quite frank if you want to re-dress the livelink web UI you need to do some real custom coding.

If you can pls provide a screen shot of what you are trying to avoid somebody in this forum will give you better hints that way.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

you may have to look at some weblingo changes to support this - see for some examples - but it is likely to be a little complex if you only want it on some folders.

You may be able to use XML Skins to achieve what you need.

Thanks for your reply guys. I was just looking at removing the "browse/drag and drop" section. Instead I want to set up a few columns to add links to the right side to take me into the actual folder browsing structure. This will act as the main page - much like a home page.

Thanks,
Cathy

Thanks Greg....not looking to remove it everywhere - just on the starting page. I don't want users to see the folder/browsing structure on that page. I want to have links that take them to the folder/browsing structure. Is this manipulation of the LL pages? If I click on the custom view I have created it goes away but when I apply the custom view to say the enterprise folder, the browse is still there.

Thanks
Cathy

for the table, you can add some content into the CENTER LEFT box on the Appearance. As for the content appearing, you could Hide all the top level folders or see if you can use some Javascript to hide them all via the DOM.

Following along with Appnair and ggriffit, just select the pencil aka the Configuration icon (upper right of the page below the Help section) and choose the Hidden option. This should hide all items on that level as well as the "browse/drag and drop" section. then your Custom View will contain pointers to the - now hidden - folders. You could get fancy with the Custom View and add drop downs to reveal lower layers of data, increasing usability and visual flair.

All the Best!
