Custom sort issue

We are using BO r2. I have created a report in web intelligence.

the report has a crosstab in it that displays route by time period. and i have applied a topN ranking on it.

i have been tryin to apply a custom sort to it, but it is not working. eg i want a,b,c,d,e and i am getting a,b,c,e,d.

I have an identical crosstab without the topN and the custom sort works fine.

Ok, so after all that, my question is, is the topN the reason the custom sort is not working and is there a way to get it to work?

You can't sort and rank at the same time. A rank is a specialized filter and sort.
