Hey, all.
Just messing around with some stuff on our in-house system involving the Security rights and what not. I just want to find out if anyone's been able to figure out how to assign specific categories for view/edit to security groups?
I know how to get in, create groups, and add security rights based on the options in there, but what I really want to do is give them User & Group Edit/Admin, ICR & User Rights Admin, which is the easy part, but I would love to be able to give them access to Extensions as well. The only way I see of doing this is assigning them to the pre-set "Manager" rights group, which then also gives them access to many more features that I would like to limit down.
Not only for safety's sake, but also it makes it less likely for a customer that's not tech-savvy to get confused as easy. When they start seeing IP Routes, Firewall and Time Profiles, I find it is easy for them to get overwhelmed. But if I show ONLY Extension, User, Hunt Groups, ICR and User Rights, it limits their options and what they're looking at.
Obviously giving certain customers access to ANY of the above is a bad idea sometimes, but this is primarily for those that seem capable enough to make basic changes on their own.
SO -- any ideas? Or am I just asking for to much?
