Custom recipient alternative

I have a user who wants to have a custom recipient set up in our Exchange 2003 server so she can get her work mail delivered to her home account. I have been reluctant to include these because when they get included in distribution lists, they have caused delivery problems to recipients in the list after the custom recipient. Does anyone know of another way to accomplish this functionality without the distribution list problem. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
