Hi,

I'm trying to create a custom fill in visio 2000 to thicken up the diagonal/horizontal internal lines. I find that the standard lines are not thick enough when you print them to be able to differentiate them easily. I use them to differentiate which switches the various hosts/ Symmetrix/ Clariions connect to on our SAN diagram.

I have tried the method used for Visio 2002 as shown on Microsoft's web site but it does not seem to work in Visio 2000 (Custom Fill box appears at the end of the patterns list but is blank). Can anybody help?

If you are referring to the lines that make up the shape, they can be changed by modifying the line wieght of the shape. If the shape is a grouped shape, some of the lines may not inherit the new line wieght. In that case you will have to Open the group (last item on the Edit menu (Not Ungroup)) and change the individual component shapes.

If you are referring to an existing Fill pattern, which one is it?

I am trying to increase the line weight for the diagonal (both ways) fill lines only, preferably not the outside lines. The fill pattern numbers are 2, 3, 4, & 5.

The fill lines do not change weight when I change the weight of the outside lines.

I do not seem to have an "open group" option on the edit menu.

Thanks for answering.

Can you identify the shape and which stencil it is on?
