Custom Label on Avaya 1603

Hi Guys,

Our system is IPOv9, I need to create custom label on Avaya 1603 where by default it will display Date, Time, Extension No and Group/Bar status. Is it possible to customize the display so that it will show custom name instead of extension number? And also I will need to remove the bar/group status on the display, by default it will show BG.. I have changed the first call appearance label as referred to this thread Link but not working on my 1603. Any help is appreciated..

You cannot alter the display configuraton, especially not on a 1603 or 1403. It is all in the bin files hardcoded.

I am not sure about that Intrigrant.
For sure on the 1608 you can change the display with the TUI settings on 9.0:

Configuration Settings

· Default Phone Display Options 

Use these settings to define the default phone display when feature menus are disabled. Note that for new users, the default phone display options are set to the system default values.

Feature menus can be disabled in one of two ways.

· On System | Telephony | TUI, set the Features Menu to off. 
On User | Telephony | TUI, set the User Setting to Same as System. 

· On User | Telephony | TUI, set the User Setting to Custom and set the Features Menu to off.

You can show the users name on 14/1608s but not 03 models

Neither do we, but I've done maintenance favours involving them

As I said ( just believe me, we sell them ) the display of a xx03 phone cannot be changed in any way, and the xx08 can be modified ( slightly ) but that was not the question was it?

intrigrant you might be correct on this.. and thanks all for your reply
i hv tested 1608, actually it has 3 lines on the screen so the label on 1st appearance will show the label. but for 1603 it has only 2 lines, so the label we put on 1st appearance will not be displayed. i'm waiting respond from my team, will update you guys..

aside to tlpeter, where do you find below menu? in manager?

This is in Manager but when Intrigrant says that this won't work for those phones then i take that for granted
