Is there a way to filter on the elements of a Custom Group
WITHOUT placing the individuals filters in EACH on the groups?

Currently I have created a Custom Group based on a Metric qualification. This metric qualification is based on the month (attribute 1) and brand (attribute 2). In order to produce the correct results I must place the filters on ATTRB 1 and ATTRB 2 in each on the 8 elements of the Custom Group. Although this solution works, I is much easier to somehow create a custom group and add the filters to the global report instead of each individual level of the custom group.

Any thoughts?

Have you created a set qualification in the custom group and tried putting the filter in the report?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'set qualification.'
I've only tried recreating the custom group based on the metric qualification and eliminating the two filters. Instead of placing the filters in each group of the custom group, I placed the two filters on report.

a more elegant solution is to create a filter object with month and brand. Name this filter F1.
then in your CG elements, link them to F1.
Now when you change F1, all the CG elements are automatically changed as well.

In order to get the correct result I used an attribute. However, I had to create a seperate hierarchy. The metric solution would be cleaner if a non aggregating function could be used (NOT Max or Min because I would like all the messages to be displayed.)

sorry, that post was for a different thread.

anyway, the solutions that are proposed do not solve the problem. I dont want the filter in the custom group. there are over 30 reports that use the custom group w/ different combinations of the 2 attributes. I would like to create ONE custom group and apply a different filter to each report.

one way the tech support guys have told me is a workaround is to use a filtered metric in your reports. ie. instead of putting the filter at the report level, place it in the metric used by the report. in any case, still lots of overhead maintenance...
