Looking for a way to customize the Edit Item page for a Issues Log list in SharePoint. I am able to use FrontPage to modify the page but if I remove the field from the page the saved record (actually a new record is created in this type of list) blanks the value for the deleted field. If I could hide the field or make it display-only that would solve my issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Background on this solution: attempting to create a simple an on-line database with audit trail for modifications. We need to disable modification of the key field for the list. If there is another way to do this without the use of the issues list type that would be great information as well.
