custom cutting

I am new to Indesign and have a relatively basic question. When I am using a template that has been designed in this program and a customer has submitted an item that must be custom cut is there anyway I can easily manipulate the various Image boxes etc. on the template?

I'm pretty sure you don't want to ask this in a forum for operating systems.
