I would like to do something similar like this thread: thread700-1221186

I would like to have todays date in this format: yymm in the beginning of the autonumber and make sure the date would not change when the next day or month comes into play.

Can someone help me with this?

How are ya cayden2007 . . .

thread700-1221186 is fine if your talking a static prefix tied to the autonumber. However if your prefix [blue]yymm[/blue] is going to change, then you need to design your own.

See Ya! . . . . . .

Be sure to see FAQ219-2884:

search the faq section for autonumber ... several articles there ... one of which is almost exactly what you are requesting.

it is almost always better to try searching both the faq section and the fora for subjects and keywords before posting a new question. savs you the time is take for someone to both read and respond and often finds an acceptable soloution
