Currupt Tiff Compression Type

Hello,
Has anyone had experience with an error message Unknown TIFF compression type. I just finished a new document and received this after the last save and close. When I reopened the file I received the error message.

Is there away to repair the file prior to opening? Grabing at straws.

Disregard,

Rather then fighting with it I saved it as a .psd photoshop file and then brought it back to AI CS2 and resized the document.
