Hi,

I have a currupt record in a table it's just one row in the record all you can see is #Error all the way along the row. I have tried to delete the record and I keep getting invalid argument. This is a huge table and I would really like to avoid recreating the whole table any suggestions I would be greatfull. Thanks Rachel

You may try a make table query excluding the corrupted row.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Hi
Here is a tread that also recommends other threads:
ERROR TRYING TO DELETE RECORD

(I guess you know to backup etc, etc, but I mention it just in case.)

Do a back-up first!!
Do Compact & Repair
Try to delete the corrupted record
if no success... then
try MS utility "Jetcompact" repair the db
Try deleting the record if it is still there.

Thanks for your help. I cannot do a make table query as the record does not have and ID field in it.

You have no primary key in this table ????

Sorry the table does have a primary key with an auto number in it the there was no id number in the field just #Error so I could not select the record in a query as it had no ID.

I planned to delete the relationships take the primary key off and do a caompact and repair and delete the record. My collegue told me if there was a currupt record in the db you can not do a compact and repair. However I did a practice run first which worked and then I just did a caompact and repair and the record went away so I was lucky there.

Cheers Rachel

If you can't repair & compact when it is corrupted then when it will allow?? Strange opinion!!

BE SURE ALWAYS KEEP A BACK-UP COPY
