I get
Every one of the conditions they list below that error message is true--every object has every permission for every user and group--user, admin, users, admins, etc. Every object--the database, all tables, etc--everything is checked. The .mdb is not open by any other user. The only thing that might be causing this is that the owner of the .mdb in question is another user--but this is not listed as one of the requirements--that the current user also be the owner--so I'm at a loss as to why I get this error.
I guess it's more of a curiosity/academic question, in that I can work around this in several different ways, so I'm wondering if this is maybe a bug or a 'failure to communicate' in the error message, or could I have missed something security-wise here. The user account that happens to own the '97 .mdb does also exist in the Access 2003 .mdw--entered using the same PID, and I can log onto Access 2003 as that user and all is fine--but I'm just wondering if maybe this message is just worded wrong, and should simpley say "The current user must be the owner in order to convert or enable"?
Thanks,
