Hello Everyone,

Interesting scenario. I have a crystal report(XI), which has a direct data source (3 tables to Oracle db). Now, a new database view is created and needs to be added to the existing report (in place of direct tables). I am trying to use the "Set Datasource Location" menu/window to replace the old 3 tables with a new database view but it only allows me to replace one table at a time with the database view and I don't want to have 3 same views repeating data souces, but instead only one view.
any idea how can I use only one view to replace all 3 tables. Cheers

Hi,
After replacing the one table with the view, delete the other 2 tables - you will get a warning that they are needed and you will lose the fields from those tables in your report..replace them with fields from the view..

Hi Turkbear,

you are right. But the report is using pretty complex Charts and loosing fields would need reconstructing it all over again. I was wondering to know if there is anyway not to loose the fields from the report. Thanks
