What is the current version?
and where can you download it?

Latest version is 6.2(2). You can download it from cisco if you have CCO login. Other than that, I doubt you'll be able to get it anywhere else.

This is kinda out there but try kazaa or e-donkey. you can get a free activation key from cisco. All I did was acted like I just took the PIX out of the box. We bought 2 and kept the other in a box yada yada, might work. If this does not work I could post it on a ftp somewere. The key you will have to come up with yourself.

If you currently have the PIX running with an older version of the code, you shouldn't need a key though. When it asks if you would like to re-enter the key, just say no and it will use the existing key.

When i upgraaded my pix v6.1.1 to 6.2.2 it wouldnt work for some reason. So I tried a new activation key and it works fine now. I don't no if that was the problem but it fixed it.

I've copied the config from a pix version 4.1 to new pix 5000 series version 5.3.

Now the outside interface doesn't work, any suggestions. Taking it's the same config. First of all can I copy the config from an older version to a newer box !!

Many Thanks for any info

It's probably a problem with your conduits and outbounds. Please post them and we'll take a look.

You should look into changing them to the new access-lists since they are much faster.
