Currency symbol does not print 1

[TimTDP]

I use various currencies in my database. To handle this I have a table called tblCurrency which includes the field Currency. This is a text field. I got the currency symbol I want from Microsoft's character map.

When I preview this symbol in a report I can see it. However it does not print!

How do I get it to print?
