Hallo together,
I have one short question. Is in PostgreSQL something like a CUBE-Operator existing.
According to the manual there is nothing. But perhaps I didn't find it.

If not, what would be the best solution to get the same result.
Probably a lot of GROUP BY in combination with UNION, right?

Thanks for any help and best regards,
Martin

Hi

Until now I believed that cube is an abstraction and is managed the client applications, for example with Mondrian... Which indeed generates [tt]select[/tt]s stuffed with a lot of [tt]group by[/tt] and [tt]union[/tt] clauses.

Feherke.

In fact there exists some database systems that can use the cube operator in their SQL version. For example with MS SQL Server in the corresponding T-SQL.
