Hi

Product: PowerPlay Transformer 7.1.5
Database: Oracle 8i
Database CharacterSet: UTF8

We are storing the Czech characters in the database. I have confirmed that data in the tables are stored correctly, other applications are displaying the data fine.

In the cube, the information shown as junk characters. I have noticed the Data Character Set option in the Preferences tab, but there is no UTF8 format. Can you please suggest me how to set the data character set to support UTF8 format.

thanks and regards,
Sudhi

Hi,

Have you sett your seting correctly in Configuration manager (CM)?
Launch your CM > cognos share > Locale and select "zh-cn".
Your encoding will be chang as well.
Just to let you know cognos supports only Latin-1 lang and Czech is not Latin1 but hopefully by changing the setting you can see correct data in your cube.

Good Luck,

Shoteck

thanks,

my database contains most of all european chars, by changin these properties, its giving junk for portuguese chars.

i just wonder how people are using the product in those locations.

regards,
sudhi
